Club Committees
Technical Committees
The committees which keep Jet Set a fully functional service entity year in and year out are our 'Technical Committees'. These include Ways & Means, Web & Newsletter, Finance, Laws & Resolutions, Social, and the Recruitment, Orientation, and Retention committees.
Service Committees
The reason we do all that technical work in our technical committees is to support our service committees. These committees represent all the various areas of service that our club is dedicated to so that members can put their energies where their passions are. Many Jet Setters have multiple service committees that they call home. Here's an overview of these committees:
- Economic / Social Development
Helps expand opportunities for economic and social development in our community.
- Environment
Gives support to environmental programs and projects, provides scholarship opportunities for women going into environmental fields, started and supports the expansion of the Port Angeles Waterfront Trail.
- Education
Provides education and vocational scholarships, provides education related materials and support for those in education programs, as well as directly supporting education programs within the community.
- International Goodwill
Provides support to countries other than our own with crisis situations involving women and girls.
- Human Rights / Status of Women
Works to educate the community regarding the omnipresent issue of human trafficing, to educate women and girls on dangerous and self protection, and to raise funds for specific programs fighting trafficing and/or providing relief for those rescued from slavery.
- Youth
Provides monetary support, supplies, and volunteer hours to children's programs in the community. Provides the annual Boys and Girls Club Christmas party giving school supplies, presents, a good meal, and a fun social evening to youth in need.
